SINGAPORE, 14 August 2023 – Accredify, Asia Pacific’s leading verification technology solutions provider, today announced that it has successfully completed the recertification audit of its ISO/IEC 27001 certification which was first awarded in July 2020 for information security management system (ISMS) excellence.
Accredify underwent an extension of its ISMS audit scope. Its audit scope previously was for “the provision of Software as a Service (SaaS) portal and application programming interfaces (APIs) for customers and recipients to generate, issue, distribute and verify their documents.” This audit scope has now been extended to include “professional services to design, architect, deliver, and maintain software” for the company’s Professional Services team, a new department that develops and deploys customized verification technology solutions for enterprises and government bodies. The purpose of the extension of the audit scope is to reflect the new services that Accredify currently provides to its customers and users.
Accredify was audited against the ISO27001:2022 standard. Developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) organisations that have been awarded the ISO 27001:2022 certification have met the requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and continually improving their ISMS with the purpose of preserving the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information.
The ISO 27001:2022 standard comprises 4 control sets and 93 controls that an organisation’s ISMS is required to conform to with respect to information security and data protection. These 4 control sets are organizational, people, physical, and technology controls.
Accredify also underwent a transition audit in which it was audited for its conformance to ISO/IEC 27001:2022. With cybercrime on the rise and new threats constantly emerging, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) revised its ISO/IEC 27001, updating its’ requirements for companies’ ISMS to better manage cyber risks. 11 new controls were introduced in the 2022 standard, which consists of the following:
1) Threat intelligence
2) Information security for use of cloud services
3) ICT readiness for business continuity
4) Physical security monitoring
5) Configuration management
6) Information deletion
7) Data masking
8) Data leakage prevention
9) Monitoring activities
10) Web filtering
11) Secure coding
